Garden Plan

I found this cool iPad app called Grow Planner, from Mother Earth News, that helps you map out your garden. You just plug in the dimensions, choose plants and drag them where you need them. The app puts in the spacing and root area for you! There are also easy to navigate pages of information about the different plants. For example, did you know marigolds are good for keeping rabbits away? I didn't! I'm glad I know now because I'm pretty sure we'll have rabbit issues.  Here's the plan:

The number of veggies you see represents the number of plants that will fit in the space given. For example, I can have 3 kale plants in the space I've mapped out.

Not much of a garden, but I think it's enough to start. After I'm done with the first year, I might try doing some cold weather gardening (lettuce, spinach, snap peas, cauliflower, broccoli rabe...) so that I get more out of my garden after the "fall harvest". If I get REALLLLLY into it, I might even expand my little patch! We'll see!
